finbot privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026.
What finbot handles
- Your messages and files sent to the bot on Telegram: text, photos, PDFs and CSV statements.
- Your Google Sheet, which you share with the bot so it can write your ledger rows.
- Your Google Drive, only if you link it with
/drive, and only through the
drive.file permission. That lets the bot create one folder and upload files into it.
It cannot see, read or change anything else in your Drive.
How it is used
- Messages and files are sent to Google's Gemini API to read amounts, dates and merchants.
The bot uses the Gemini free tier, under which Google may use submissions to improve its models.
- The figures are written to your own Google Sheet. If you linked Drive, a copy of each file you
send goes into the bot's folder in your Drive.
- Nothing is sold, shared with anyone else, or used for advertising.
Google user data
finbot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements. Drive access is used only to store the files you send to the bot.
Google user data is not used for anything else, not transferred to others, and not read by humans.
What is stored, and where
- Your ledger lives in your Google Sheet and your archived files in your Google Drive. You own both.
- The bot's server keeps a small local database: your Telegram id, the link to your sheet, the last
few chat messages (so follow-up questions make sense), hashes of files already processed, and, if you
linked Drive, a Google access token for that one folder.
Removing your data
/drive unlink deletes the Drive token and revokes it at Google. You can also remove
finbot's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
/forget all clears the chat history the bot keeps.
- Ask the owner to remove your access, and everything the server holds about you is deleted.
Your sheet and Drive files stay yours.
